The Dragonborn

In Alidor the Brunari people were lead by a family of gold dragons. The dragons gave the brunari protection from the harsh environment, in turn; the brunari gave their fealty to the dragons. Over a millennia, the brunari nation grew as the men and dragons worked together to explore the world around them. The brunari had a very strict code of justice as taught to them by the dragons. The lawful and merciful way of their culture was finally put to task when their territory spread to what is now the island of Jelling. The influence of the Dragon Surma confused and fractured the lawful and orderly way of life that the brunari had become accustomed to. Eventually the brunari fractured into two groups, the Brunites who followed the gold dragons of the mainland, and the Surmites who followed the dragon of the island. The Dragonborn are products of this fracture and to this day represent an iconification of ultimate fealty to the dragon race.

In Alidor, dragonborn can be found protecting the fortifications of the dragon Surma on the Island of Jelling. In Jelling dragonburn are not well liked by the locals who live in cautious trepidation of the dragon Surma and her minions. They are also found in Holmgaard where they are venerated by the people who’s ancestors were the first to make pacts with the gold dragon Brunarigraliax and her family, so many millennia ago. In Kirkland they are known to be great war leaders and are given the status of celebrity. In the City of Alidor they are no better than the next downtrodden bloke that strolls the street, though when one fights in the coliseum, the crowds are unusually large, and more energized than normal.

Dragonborn are the offspring of affairs between caimen eladrin and men or elves. Usually only one child is born, but on occasion twins are produced.
