City of Duftown

Once ruled by King Charles the Simple. Known best for it’s ale breweries. Presently occupied by dwarves of MT. Laudin. Duftown was one of the first settlements held by the nation of Jelling in a foreign land, and was founded by Philip Mathenrose on, or about, JY 1229 during his epic voyage of exploration West across the Winwell Sea. The city is on the shore of Laudin Lake, at the foot of Mt. Laudin. Caves near the city are home to dragons who are known to have a love for good stout ale. Philip Mathenrose made a trade agreement with the dragons to have the ale made by their slaves shipped across the sea to Jelling. Overtime their hoard earned through trade grew so large, that the dragons started paying for brewmasters instead of enslaving them, which in turn made better beer and even bigger profits. A whole booming economy developed based on trade with Jelling. As for who rules Duftown, the dragons care little, as long as their beer and ale business is not effected.

The Dwarves of Mt. Laudin may miss their mountain, but here in Duftown, they see themselves as refugees in one of the best beer making cities in the world.
