Busy Month for RPGA in Central Illinois

Living Greyhawk officially ends 12/31/2008 so they are in a big push locally to get through all the published modules before the end of the year. Normally, I prefer to play RPGA games once a month and do home games twice a month. For the past 5 years that is how it has been. As 3.5 Living Greyhawk winds down RPGA activity at our house has really picked up. I am playing RPGA events three days a week and my home game has shifted to once a month mainly out of state. The sad part is that about half the players are not switching to 4e and dropping out of the RPGA. One player who is like “the hub” of all activity in Urbana-Champaign is calling it quits. He bought the 4th edition books read them and showed up this week wishing to sell them for half price. He does not want to be part of a system that makes teiflings and dragonborn PCs and warned us not to get him started on drow being good guys…
Though I think three days a week is a lot, it sounds like rest of the players meeting at my house are also hitting games and mini cons all over the midwest nearly every day from now through December 31st, so they can get in the last remaining mods. I know a group will be here next weekend for the LG final game at APL 16. I will be using my cheesed out “tank” thief 1/ranger 1/fighter 6/justicar 5. The next day another group will be here for another game at APL6; in that one I am running a 5th level rouge, and my wife is running a 5th level dwarf fighter. It will be a busy last 8 weeks.
