It is Tough Deal

I play in the RPGA mainly and if you miss some games it is tough deal to get back in, because the players don’t want to play low level stuff. I suppose that is what conventions are for. Around here, only about a dozen people play 4e RPGA games and it is real tough to get into a game if you have a 1st level PC. It is not like I am not active. I have actually run more 4e RPGA modules than I have played. I find them to be very fun to run as a DM.
One of the reasons I have not played much is that the local group plays only one day a week, and that one day is a Friday and Fridays are fish fry and family time for me; being almost catholic. Plus my real world job tends get busy on Fridays.
Well, I get to play tomorrow and I am excited about playing my goliath warden again. I think I have him down now, and I plan to spend less time with negative hit points this time around. It is all those hit points at first level that get you overconfident in 4e; they make you a bit more daring. You feel like a 4th level old school player character with all those nifty abilities and powers, until the bad guys put you straight with some serious hurt as they clobber you down past bloody in a wink of an eye. It is still a fun game though and I am a bit giddy about finally getting a chance at it again. It has been about four weeks since the last 4e RPGA game that I was allowed to play in; like I said it is a tough deal to get into a game around here especially if you only have a low level character. I suppose I should feel privileged.
