My game portion of my brain is at capacity, something has to go. I decided it is 4e. If I drop it entirely I may have enough gray matter left to focus on the two game systems left, 3.5e and Pathfinder, though I am considering dropping 3.5e also sice Pathfinder is so shiny in comparison. If my brain has limited capacity then storage is at a premium for me, and I prefer to lock down good stuff for keepsake and dump all the useless bramble that tries to take root. I figure, dumping 4e now will leave enough memory for playing games with my son and not having 4e in the house will same me a couple bucks per person per year. My wife points out that if my brain doesn’t have limit, my wallet sure does. She never bought into 4e at all, saying if she wanted to be a Jedi she’d play Star Wars.
So today I dropped my books into the recycling bin, gone forever. Bye 4e.

You could try trading those books at paperbackswap.com – at the very least, get some credits from them so you can get books you want.

I think I roll by one the game stores here in town and see if they’ll take the books. Otherwise, I’ll have me a book burning…
I would suggest donating them instead of burning them. A local library or Goodwill or some other similar organization would happily take the books. Most donations of that sort are tax deductible (at least in the US, check local tax laws).
@Granger44 I talked with a local game store owner and he’ll buy my books off me, which I think is better that giving to charity. I was just kidding about burning the books I wouldn’t want to waste the match.

lol!
Did you get much for your books? I’m thinking of dumping my 4e books too.
@greentiger,
I was going to take a picture of all the 4e books I bought first, but then I got busy… And I forgot. It was not much, of an offer, a couple dollars per book. We are selling our house, so I got to move on this soon.
