I am still working on my Northpoint map and on the town’s history in preparation for play. I mentioned that the Black Diamond dwarves rent dock space in Northpoint’s sea cave for three iron clad warships, The Emerald Goddess, the Prince Calding and the Brazen Wolf. I had a couple players ask about the ships a while back, so I googled for images and found this one to show them; I came across it again today on my hard drive.

I really like the image I hope to draw something similar someday, but for now this is the image I will show my players. If people ask “but you said three?” I can just say the painting represents The Emerald Goddess, and the Prince Calding attacking the Kirk fleet near Ramkirk in Kings Bay Kirkland. The Brazen Wolf left the line to chase after a Kirk skiff supposedly carrying King Phin Draely III’s family to safety.

I like the artwork here and I think I will try to design some sort of elongated pyramid shaped warship with cannons, ballista and trebuchets, all precariously placed in almost every nook and cranny on the ship.

Here are some symbols from the Dwarves of My Laudin. There are basically four groups of dwarves that can be found on or around Mt. Laudin. At one time they lived happily inside their great undermountain fortress. When the king of the kirks turned on them, they were forced to flee the safety of their halls, not entirely because of the Kirk invasion. Most Laudin dwarves say, some overpowering evil followed the human king into the mountain, something intangible, and wretched, and most definitely indestructible. The best of the best dwarven defenders fell to dust before they could wink an eye.

Most exits to the mountain fortress were watched by Kirk forces and many a dwarf fell before the swords and arrows of the men of Kirkland. The only exit not watched was the East gate, dwarves who made it out this exit, gathered, got organized, and moved forward to lay siege on Duftown who essentially let the city fall to the dwarfs with little resistance.

The best part about RPGs is when the players in your game start to get involved and add content. My home game world is really a mishmash of stuff I dreamed up and whatever my players threw into the mix to help make the game world make sense. One of my old players ran a campaign about ten years back where he created a flyer for a band called the One Ton Orc. His plan was to have the band as part of a plot hook. He said that his players had a blast in that game. Just recently, he came across the flyer he designed from way back then, and brought down from Wisconsin this weekend and gave it to me to scan.

Now Alidor has a traveling band called the One Ton Orc. I only had to ask the player what bar he wanted the band to frequent the most? He selected the Reeking Brownie Inn on the tortoise Ingersol. Besides already having some basic map details for Ingersol, I was able to add more content to my home game without much work.

Here is a Ingersol tortoise city stats pdf from my home game.

I really like it when the players start helping with content while playing, it really makes being the GM just that much less painful.

I am writing and running a dungeon for a local con this weekend. It will be run in the Saturday evening time slot, so I thought it should be a haunted house style game. Fortunately, a couple years back, I was driving cross country when I saw this place on the hillside. I think it is Upstate New York. Anyway, It inspired me to write my
The Lair of Inescapable Doom game. It runs in the 8pm to 12am time slot At Winter War. This image will be given out at the beginning of the game.

In the Village of Ingersol, no one approaches the old Willerson manor. Stories of ghosts and evil spirits within the home keep the locals fearful and on edge. Yup that image will do fine.

Taandi Goddess of Weather, Sky, Seasons & Birds. Sometimes called the Storm Goddess.
She appears most often as a Taandi bird, which is a migratory crane found throughout Alidor, and sometimes as a young blond maiden in white robes. When angered, she assumes the form of a swirling vortex, different degrees of anger are represented by the size and the ferocity of the vortex, when agitated she could be nothing more than a dust devil, but her anger can grow to the size of a F4 tornado or worse forming ever further into a Category 4 hurricane when she is really ticked off.

A couple large churches exist, one in Glenfiddich and another in the City of Alidor. Shrines are found throughout the world and on sailing vessels. Taandi birds are considered sacred and are not hunted or harmed by followers of this faith. Carrying a feather is good luck, so is finding a nest with eggs. Though eating the eggs does not good give one good luck.

Symbols are four taandi birds flying in a V pattern on a blue background. In wartime it is a black vortex on a blue background.

Taandi is also the name of the 9th month on the Alidor calendar.
